As to terrorists - it was Americans who were the main fundraisers for the IRA - or are they “Freedom Fighters” not terrorists ?

I could say many more pithy things about American hypocrisy but I will forbear.

Way to take the “high road”! You may not have started this, but you certainly were happy to throw gasoline and something that started to burn out. I’m not saying you don’t have a right to be upset about the initial post, but there are better ways to make comments. Leslee68 got it about right I would say.

There are many Americans here who see such an attack on Great Britain just as though it were an attack on our own soil. I’m one of them and you all are in my prayers. Rule Britannia!

Drake landed on the Californian coast in 1579 and (allegedly) claimed the land by carving a brass plaque claiming the land in the name of Queen Elizabeth I and leaving it on a beach he described as being surrounded by white cliffs. The legend holds that it was about thirty miles north of San Fransisco close to Point Reyes.

A hoax plate was “discovered” in the 1930’s but this has subsequently been totally discredited. It must be noted ONLY the hoax has been discredited, not the original contention of Drakes landing and claim.

Historically it is almost certain Drake did land, it was common practice in those days to do so and if he did it would have been fully in keeping with his tradition and the ways of the Elizabethan seafarers of the day to claim the land.

So California could belong to “Idiot Brits” now it belongs to “Idiot Californians” instead.

Alright.

What I am trying to say (and I did so fairly striongly) is this:

Great Britain has harbored terrorists in its country, especially in London for a long time. It was a policy of the empire, largely so they could then manipulate these groups to control its empire.

This policy has not stopped in the last 50 years, and has been a constant source of antagonism between Britain and other countries. It is well known that violent terrorist groups, actively overthrowing other countries, etc., are permitted by Great Britain to open an office and shop in London, collect donations, etc.

The people of Great Britain should throw the perpatrators who allowed this to occur out on the keesters. As I said, “someones freedom fighters just murdered 50+ of your citizens”.

This is not to say America is perfect. I was not making a comparison.

There now, that was the less inflammatory version.

I have prayed for the victims. Criticism of the stupid policy does not constitue lack of sympathy for the victims.

God Bless Great Britain, and may they come back to the Catholic Church!!!

Hi Cockney. Since the forum collapsed I have been reading quite a bit about the security measures in Britain after the bombings. Somebody seems to have got through to Pakistan. There has been a slew of arrests there. Also this new legislation about promoting terrorism seems promising. Are you happy with Blair’s response?

I am very sorry for the innocent victims of this TERRORIST attack. But clearly the morons who run Great Britain hve brought it on themselves (really onto their gullible citizens). People are starting to talk about how British liberalism is the cause of this, i.e., they are so politically correct that they will not even call terrorists “terrorist”, but rather refer to them as “bombers”. Also, they “tolerate” anything, even fundamental Islamicists WITHIN LONDON calling for the death and attacking of London.

They come up with idiotic slogans like “one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter”. WELL SOME LONDON BASED “FREEDOM FIGHTERS” JUST MURDERED 50+ OF YOUR CITIZENS YOU BLOODY IMBECILES.

I believe it goes deeper than this. Great Britain was once an empire. It controlled vast territories. The tactics it developed included setting up one group to slaughter another to maintain control. Many terrorist and drug running organizations can be traced to the dealing of the agents of the empire (remeber they developed the opium → heroin routes). Though the empire has lost a lot (if not most) of its power, it is not dead, and the ties to various organizations, including terrorist still exist. People in the establishment of Great Britain, including likely some royals, need to allow certain groups to exist, even in London. This allows them to manipulate what little power the British Empire has left. They really do not care much about the citizens of London.

Over 10 years ago there was a big controversy regarding London harboring terrorists. There were hearigs in Parliment, news stories (not in the US), etc. Eventually some legislation was passed to try and manage this, but clearly these groups still exist openly in London.

Great Britain is a wasteland. Run by politically correct idiots, and an oligarchy who does not give a damn about its citizens. Eventually the House of Windsor may get kicked out. Let us pray that a new royal family who will bring Great Britain back into the Catholic fold follows. The Anglican administration has been a filthy, murderous, liberal pile of garbage.

Mark, you have been all over the forum boasting about your ‘uncharitable’ post. I will not comment about the fundamental errors of fact and interpretation that you display here, your oleaginous, erronoeus, ignorant and insulting views about my beloved country, but I will comment about the blatant pride you display in your lack of charity. Look deep into your heart, Mark, contemplate 1 Corinthians 13:13 (And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity) and ask yourself whether you are being an effective ambassador for Christ as an exemplar of Christian charity.

It seems to me that you are more intent on an pharisaical interpretation of Scripture and a personal display of prejudice and contempt for others that scandalises the faithful, than on developing a truly Christian faith. I know atheists who have a more loving and Christian attitude than you display here. Shame on you.
