The Two Witnesses in Major, Spiritual Church History

I still think that a spiritual interpretation of the Two Witnesses as Scripture and Tradition, the Written and Oral words of God, is more epic and meaningful. For 2000 years, the heretics and others have attacked the witness of the Church in Scripture and Tradition. When you attempt to deny [attack/harm] any truth from Scripture or Tradition, which is Church doctrine, the spiritual harm comes back on you. For the truths of God are meant to assist in our redemption. When we misunderstand God, we are placing obstacles between us and God, and that is spiritually harmful.

But today, we have a beast of secular apostasy, that has “killed” Scripture and Tradition. The world no longer fears them in any sense. They are like dead, lying in the streets, not even given a respectful burial. The world sends gifts to one another that they don’t need to care about religion in ANY sense.

But in the coming chastisement, the world will begin to fear God again, and His Revelation. And when it is through, as Christians reunite, the Two Witnesses of Scripture and Tradition will be VINDICATED, assumed into heaven figuratively. Then shall Our Lady’s Peace reign and the unitive way be attained.

See how the Two Witnesses “illumine” the Church, but the killing of them is like a dark night.

So then their assumption is like the renewal, the “unitive” way of the Church.
 
Revelation clearly connects the Two Witnesses to Moses and Elijah. It seems to me the most immediate application is probably the spiritual rejection of the Law and the Prophets by Israel.

Looking at it in more of a future sense though, I can see your interpretation as a possibility.

I find it interesting that the first Christians used the Jewish Law and Prophets of the OT to point people to Christ. Then the situation became so distressful to the Jewish rabbis that they revised the list of canon a few decades after the fall of Jerusalem, and some very Messianic books of the OT were demoted to deuterocanonical status. I also find it ironic that this revision by the Jewish scholars around 90 A.D. gave others an excuse to delete some of the books of the Bible that they found distressing almost fifteen centuries later.
 
Is this particular interpretation of the two witnesses in Revelation have any other basis or is this a novel approach. If it is novel is there any reason to reject previous interpretations or how does this approach correct something where the others were falling short?

novel, not correctional, supplemental. Scripture can have multiple layers of meaning

Actually it is not new – it has been said by others before that a possibility is the two witnesses refers to the oral and written Word, the Law and the Prophets. I also hold this view as its primary interpretation.
