This is interesting. I used to work for the ADA. They have some very talented people working in their labs and often get their way. Its not like they deal with life or death issues.

My friend worked as an actuary in some company that provided dental coverage. He said stats prove that dental care costs have SPIRALED since the advent of dental health insurance with what he says the average cost of braces is like 7 grand. He said Dentists are required to have so much college training that they need the high costs to provide care to help pay for their education costs.

I have no link just that I know most people without group dental insurance through an employer just skip out on dental treatment given the expense.

I have no clue what the answer is nor do I claim to be an expert so I look forward to hearing the (name removed by moderator)ut of others.

Mary.

Didn’t you know that Assad is one?

This problem is often missing in discussions of income inequality. It is one thing if someone has a high income because they offer a good or service that people are willing to pay for. On the other hand, there is nothing morally praiseworthy about people who conspire with the government to restrict competition in order to boost their incomes. Crony capitalism at its finest.

Pretty sure he’s an ophthalmologist, though, after watching Marathon Man, I can see how dentistry might be a hobby for him.

Eyes…teeth…eyes…teeth…eye teeth… :hmmm:

Coincidence? I think not. :dts:
While I’m not completely sure as to what it is this poster is getting at, the post has made me think that mine was in bad taste, taking into account that specific line of discussion. I didn’t think. Sorry.
