Anyone heard of these jokers? They offer doctorates for a paypal fee, you can become a Bishop overnight! and best of all this entitles you to a walmart discount. And wait! they can trace their roots back to the 2nd century, www.ulcnetwork.com
 
Hey, it is all about interfaith. this is a dangerous path. the mix of religion everyone is good. interfaith all. notice they even offer ordination for priest and everything else. it wont surprise me to see priests who bought this title from these people. remember it is all about interfaith. it is a new religion being formed. a gather of many different faiths coming together to form a new religion. i am seeing that already happening. there is a reason why the OT speaks against mixing Truth with lies. what happened when Israel begin to mix their faith with other faiths?
 
Thankfully this is not the original Universal Life Church founded in 1959 in Modesto, CA.

Our church founded the mail in free ordination, yes you can get degrees approved by the state of California under the religious exemption and can buy titles I hold the title Cleric since its general for someone in the clergy and only GOD can issue a title, this is very simple kind of like calling a military officer with a rank soldier. Even the Pope is a cleric. 👍

Anyway I have in the US all the rights of a clergyperson, marriage is somewhat more restrictive in some states that are clearly biased.

But we tend to view this simply we are Called to serve and do so save members that are atheists, humanists or other paths of a non-deity nature.

And you paid money for this title?
 
Yes one has to to put the title on ones ULC Credential Card a very nice plastic card affirming my status as an clergy attached to the ULC, necessary for hospital visitation off hours and the like. So Cleric is before my name. They don’t offer Pope sadly - :rotfl:

But they have package deals for things at a discount to get new ministers started.
 
Seems there would be less immorality involved to just forge your own, and you’d save money.

i wonder how long it will take them to just do that, come up with the certificate of pope. it would interesting to see how many aspires this title. titles for sale, very funny.
 
Well I sent a request they add POPE to the list why should that be sacred when you can buy the titles Prophet and for women Goddess (but no God seems biased) so why not Pope.

But what is the big deal how many positions in the Roman Catholic Church including Pope was effectively BOUGHT just for a great deal more money than the $10 the ULC (Modesto) asks.

Oddly enough we take the ULC seriously for many its one of the few options for ordination such as pagans, atheists and the really off the wall ones like ufo worshippers and we even have some satanists if I recall. And some get ordained just to perform a friends or relatives wedding as a member of the clergy.

Lets put the cards on the table they poured money into the the Catholic Church, supported the faith and using that bought the Papacy twice, this doesn’t include all the lesser titles. Its odd to me that a member of the family never seemed to not get promoted to a prominant post in the faith whether nun, monk or ordained priest they all rose to titles of station. You can’t tell me it wasn’t the money and politics they gave money, you gave power in the Church which meant power in Secular Society by default.

I could go deeper but lets say if a child was part of the highest monied ranks of secular society they made it in the Church faster than talent would allow. Catholic + Lots of Money = Higher Position in the Church. It may not be like that now but your not that naive that that was not the case. It still might be but not as likely secular and religious popwer in the West seems far less prominant now in many nations.

At least the ULC (Modesto) is honest you want a title pay $10 and they register it in the records and send you a nice certificate to hang on your wall. In mainstream churches you pay for the education your a minister, rabbi etc. so you do BUY the title to just in a different way. Money equals access. That is fine but to say its not the case fellow clerics is rather shortsighted.

My ordination was FREE and my other costs my choice - freely done I would make that at least more honest in my opinion…
