I have been troubled deeply by the idea of the unpardonable sin. I had been convinced that I had committed it. I want to start fresh but sometimes it’s consuming and Im afraid I have tested God too much.

I was raised Catholic, I stopped practcing - a slow loss of faith - when I was in college. I even reached a point where I made an awful joke about the virgin mary and her not actually being a virgin- even calling her something awful. I cringe thinking about it but in retrospect I denied her perfect virginity and I made a mockery of her, I remember regretting it but didnt put too much weight on it because I wasn’t practicing my faith at that time. I certainly didn’t think it through nor did I say it with convinction but I made a disgusting joke about something that is so precious and sacred/

It wasn’t until years later I read on the unpadonable sin and thought I may have committed it. I have never felt close to God or that I deserved to go to heaven even when i was younger. I would like to and want to but fear it may be too late or even that I may never have been good enough for God’s love.

Does anyone have advice? I have seen a priest on this matter and I have prayed for forgiveness but I feel there is so much in the bible that says that is not enough

Please help, I have been sick over this matter and it haunts me daily.

Forgive yourself. you are human and God loves you. It is the Evil One who wants you to continue to torture yourself. Why let him and instead let Him, our Savior, grant you peace?

as for the one sin that is not forgivable, blashphemy against the Holy Spirit…

The Comforter, the Spirit that lives within us,He Who was given to us by the Son, the One whose Wings hovered over the earth when it was made void…

There are people who chose to so completely turn away from Him, to grind Him out of their own spirit, that they forever make a choice to become completely dark , not just dim, but void of any Light, willingly and with purpose. They do not want nor desire any comfort, any joy of God, need no forgivness for they will never accept the immorality of sin nor fear what justice is due upon Judgement.

Ever once in a while, have you ever seen or met or read of a person that just sends shivers deep into you? you know the people of this darkness. You know Evil. Evil beyond the thinkable evil. No light penetrates them. They have sealed up thier hearts.

That is what it is.

Hello, I am new to the Catholic faith and I was told by all the protestant propaganda that the Church was the whore babylon, and that the Church was run by the Devil and that all the Catholics were fooled and that even the Blessed Virgin Mother at Fatima was the Devil and that it was a satanic trick by Catholics. So, naturally, when looking at a video of this on Youtube I was scared that it was right because the Antichrist is going to use signs in the sky in front of men and also I saw Maitreya healing water healing a cat! So now even HEALING A GOOD FRUIT FROM GOD COULDN’T EVEN BE TRUSTED!!! I was actually scared of the Virgin mary and I thought she was the Devil, so when asked by my dad basically, “who do you think this is” I replied in an inquisitive/questionitive manner, “the Devil”. Later I watched a video about Padre Pio and said thats how you tell if it is from God, if it has the image of Christ and the name of Christ. Well, sure enough we watched another video about Fatima and she said to say a prayer using the name Jesus and also showed I think the Baby Jesus as well.

This PLAUGES MY MIND!!! I honestly didn’t know and i feel so bad about. I feel bad more than anything like I stuck another thorn into the heart of our sorrowful mother. I also think I am going to hell to because I think I blaspheemed the Holy Ghost, but I love the work of God and the Holy Ghost.

Can anyone answer this? Please help.

There simply are no sins that cannot be forgiven. The only sins that cannot be forgiven are the ones that the sinner does not repent of. Mortal sins no matter what they are will damn if the sinner does not repent. Purgation does not work on mortal sins.

St Paul obtained mercy and he was a blasphemer and a very bad (good?) blasphemer.

Jesus in Matt 12:31-32 was specifically speaking to verse Matt 12:24 where the Pharisees would not accept the works of the Holy Spirit through Christ removing the demon. They said it was Beelzebub the most wicked of devils. They have been following Christ for a long time and he was getting a sizable following thus their importance was on the wane thus they character assassinated Jesus not accepting his holy works. They were not aware of the Trinity yet but were familiar with the Holy Spirit/Ghost being of God. Thus attributing the demon removal from the power of Beelzebub & denying the Holy Spirit was blasphemous. Jesus warned/terrified them that this is an unforgivable sin to say this. If they repented & accepted Christ they would be saved.

From Haydock Commentary: . In the same place St. Chrysostom tells us, that some of those who had blasphemed against the Holy Ghost, repented, and had their sins forgiven them. St. Augustine, by this blasphemy against the Spirit, understands the sin of final impenitence, by which an obstinate sinner refuseth to be converted, and therefore lives and dies hardened in his sins. End Haydock commentary

Again our merciful God will remit any sin if one asks for forgiveness

I think that the sin against the Holy Spirit is calling good evil and/or calling evil good.
It’s a sin of the will with eyes wide open to the lie of it and far as I can tell, it happens every single day in the political world.
