I dislike it intensely. Our calendar is is based on “Anno Domini” not the “Common Era”. Why have so many Catholics accepted CE in common usage? IMHO CE denies Christ and His sacrifice.
I am so remembering this!Here’s a cheeky way to foil the CE/BCE way of evading any mention of Christ.
Read it as “Christian Era” and “Before the Christian Era.”

why do you personally know many Catholics who have adopted this method of dating? the only place I see it is in certain academic journals, many of which are notoriously anti-religion in general, so I don’t know why you ascribe this practice to Catholics.I dislike it intensely. Haven’t you heard? We Catholics are the only ones with correct viewpoints on everything, including the calendar. It is our sworn duty to force others to adhere to our way. Those who don’t like it can sod off.Why should Muslims, Sikhs & others use the Christian calendar ?
