Does any body knows more in details about this research study of the TEXAS University , that in the 30 % of the time , the use condoms do not protect against AIDS ?
I think that this research can be the striking argument against the sin of the sexual freedom.
Does any body knows about this research or the researches of the same subject ?
Thank you.

The current research is anywhere from a 1-4% failure rate.

This is pretty good, having a 94-99% success rate is better than a 100% rate if you are not even using one. They are not failure free and foolproof but they do reduce the risk and are much better than not using anything.

I am a certified HIV prevention counselor and what you say is a dangerous lie. Condom, when used properly, DRASTICALLY reduce the HIV/AIDS transmission risk.

I am not advocating going against Church teaching on here, but get your facts straight.

Abstinence-only education is like telling your kids not to swim without showing them how to use a lifevest, becuase they are gong to swim anyway.

Sorry , when I was asking this question , may be I underestimated the whole weight of the AIDS problem in some areas in the world.
And from the article , posted by NewUlm , when the Bai Jerabai says ‘’ it is ridiculous to stress on only purist messages of Celibacy or Monogamy’’… the one can imagine the whole seriousness of the problem in some areas around the world.
The use of condom - definitely reduces the risk .
And in some circumstances it’s a less evil and much more safer than not to use it.

But what I meant by the question is that many people who are living in sin , and thinking that the condom is their deliverance and protection from any troubles.
They do not pay attention to the spiritual seriousness of the problem , therefore let them realize that there is not just spiritual but a physical risk .
Unfortunately , only by the physical trouble the people some times can see the reality of the spiritual trouble.
But my question was still a question and not an answer.
Let it be a question :
The Use Of Condoms Do Not Protect From Aids ?

Even if condoms provide about 97% protection against diseases that is still not a justification to use them. The only way is ABSTINANCE.

I’m sorry, but I must disagree with you on this issue.

The only sure way we are going to drastically reduce the AIDS virus is by preventing the spread of the disease. One of the best ways we can do this is by encouraging AIDS sufferers to be completely chaste. In my opinion, AIDS sufferers who engage in sexual intercourse are completely irresponsible. They may argue that they are practicing safe-sex, but we all know that there really is no such thing as safe sex; even condoms pose a 4% failure rate.

Living a celibate life is not a difficult task, and those who suffer from the AIDS virus are perfectly able to abstain. Those victims who have sex are putting their own selfish pleasure ahead of the health of their partners. It enfuriates me when people accuse the Church of having blood on their hands because African Catholics refuse to use condoms; they claim this is a factor in the spread of the AIDS virus. This is a lie. We know for certain that condoms are not a fool proof method of protecting against the disease; they are faulty. AIDS is spread because those who suffer from the virus deliberately have sex, sometimes with contraception and sometimes without. Instead of promoting faulty contraceptives, the authorities should be encouraging abstinence and chastity. This is the ONLY method which will guarantee that the AIDS virus will not be spread further.

We all know there are other ways the AIDS virus can be spread, for example, by dirty needles. However, this factor has no relevance to this thread; hence, I have not discussed this issue.
