The value of Tawheed

In all my time learning about islam.

There was one idea flung at me every day.

The idea is Tawheed.

Tawheed seeks to define the oneness of G_d for muslims so that they can direct their worship at only the one G_d.

A simple enough idea…or is it?

I had a discussion on Tawheed with Amy, and that was in fact what made me wonder about the validity of the concept.

Let us agree that G_d is One.
No Christian or Muslim will dispute this.

However what we disagree on is how we perceive G_d.

A muslim says that G_D is one and can only be perceived as one and he cannot appear as more than one (Tawheed)

A christian says that G_D has revealed Himself in three distinct ways. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

How G_d chooses to reveal Himself, does not change the fact that G_d is One.

The bottom line is that I never saw the value of Tawheed.

If one believes God begets yakkkkk , then there is another deity besides the real one. So , it matters how one thinks God chooses to reveal Himself.

The bottom line is that I never saw the value of Tawheed.

A Christian does not believe that God begets another god.
A Christian believes that when God the Father begets God the Son, there is still only one God. The one God is three Persons, (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) but still only one single God.

and that is probably why for muslims taweed is needed…

Yes yes Islamic tauhid . Muslims do not believe in the incarnation of Jesus ( the virgin birth is a miracle because Allah wanted so, nothing less nothing more) and Jesus being the Word of Allah is understood in the Arian sense, that Allah gave a divine attribute to a creature. Now since Muhammad so misunderstood basic Christianity, every single Muslim who speaks to a Christian will tell him “Allah does not beget!”, of course as erroneously understood by Muhammad.As to the Holy Spirit, they think He is an “angel” and Muhammad failed to mention Him while “refuting” Christianity. So when it comes to Judeo-Christianity, they brag of monotheism by attacking that which they don’t understand, but as far as Allah is One, no further thiking is needed.

Yet Sunni Islam teaches that Allah is one and the Quran is eternal and uncreated being the speech of Allah but Muslims hate this topic and the Shia refuse it because they believe it compromises monotheism.
