If I may, this is the result of the pro-choice movement’s efforts: European populations have gone down, and so have allowed for immigrants to come in to fill in the labour demands. Since many of them come from countries where large families are encouraged, the result is there for us to see: while Europeans continue to adhere to this pro-choice campaign, the immigrants cling to their ways, taking with them their beliefs and customs. Along with it would be religion, and of course traditional family values, values that the pro-choice camp don’t like, such as having large families. So Christian Europe is slowly dying because of the efforts of these pro-choice people. The death of Christian Europe is, to be fair, staved off by immigrants coming from Christian countries like the Philippines, but it is not enough. Along with casual values and indifference towards Christianity, and the penchant of the young to go to “trendy” religions and beliefs, Christian Europe is now slowly fading. As Pope John Paul II said before, it is time to re-evangelize Europe to the Faith. Quite ironic for a continent where the Faith flourished.

Yeah, I’ve heard this too about Muslims over-running everything because they have more kids.

It might be true. I know it’s already happening in Europe. But the biggest question I think is whether they’ll go along with the Wahhabi form of Islam that’s more extreme. When people get more money and have more than their fill they don’t usually become extremists (yeah, I know…Bin Laden, rich and all…). But there are a lot of Muslims that are not so extreme and who are tired of the terrorism, too. They like some of the freedoms they see in Europe but they hate some of the hedonism.

There is a big religious vacuum in Europe at the moment, because the society and culture there have become far more secular in the past century or so. Yet, not just Islam is filling the vacuum but also Buddhism, and the Pope’s visit to Austria shows evangelisation is still possible for the Christian church as well.

The demographics are somewhat murky and the proportions of Muslims might increase, but to what extent is not clear at the moment.

Church doctrine on war is the “just” war doctrine. they can and will call for it should the circumstances be right. The Pope has said that evil must not go unchecked, it must be confronted.

It is not unthinkable that the vatican would call for a Crusade should Christian Europe be threated by Islam again. I just find it hard to think that it will. The governments there will try to stop it before it becomes a problem.

It may very well be what Extremists on both sides want, especially Protestants. those guys on the 700 club call for Crusades every day. If the Vatican felt threated they could very well join with them, and 1.5 billion Christians would be a force to reckon with Islam. I just find it hard to see it going that far, but then again I never thought the World Trade Center would be missing from the ne York skyline either.

Seems like too many, if not most, people are resigned to the idea the Muslims will eventually take over europe because they multiply. Some stats are saying that in just 50 years or so some europeans would find themselves the minorities in their own countries. What would be the future of the Vatican in a muslim Italy if that happens? Imagine the Pope becoming a dhimmi. Even I find that idea revolting.

Islam is the fastest going religion, and that is a fact. Christianity has diminished since around the time of Vatican II. Islam will eventually be the dominant religion in Europe, you already are aware of this. The Pope has on many occasions said that he has High regard for Islam and great esteem for Islam. It seems he has already admitted that Islam is taking/taken over. What they could not do with violence during the crusades they accomplish now, quietly and in sheer numbers. 50 years, I say less. The fact is this, Islam is doing a greater job at conversion than the Vatican. Actually I do not even see the Vatican pushing for conversion anymore. They are leaning towards the thing, oh what is it called, oh yeah.Ecumenism. That is where other religions are saved also, not only the just the Universal Religion founded by Our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ who is GOD. People wonder why even when the answer is right in front of them.

Where I live 4 mosques have been erected. One more will be completed in 2008. In addition, their members buy up all the houses near the Mosques driving up house prices to sometimes almost double its market value. In the meantime, Catholics are losing faith, where I am (positively) and elsewhere I am sure, as can be seen by the low turnout in Churches and especially the younger generations. I recently have switched to the Traditional Latin Mass (the mass is the same as it was celebrated prior to 1962). It is strict, and most women cover their head and everybody dresses like they are going to pray to God. Which kind of old school but i think it is better. Surprisingly, When I first started attending the numbers were small, and now a few months later you can see a gradual increase in attendance.

muslims are very good at excuses. they look at the hellholes that are muslim nations and they put all the blame on the west for all sorts stupid excuses like:

1. colonizing them in the past.
2. supporting corrupted muslim leaders.
3. the crusades.

What Christians (Catholics among them) need to do is set up a weekly fellowship that educates the flock on the wicked aspects of Islam. That will at least discourage your friends from blindly sympathizing with a dangerous religion.

Whether or not "ALL Muslim"s put “ALL the blame” for the mess their countries are in on Westerners/Christians colomizing their countries and supporting corrupt Muslim leaders (i.e. neocolonialism), are you claiming that the actions/policies of the Westerners /Christians have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the condition contemporary Muslim countries are in?
