Greetings every body , I wanted to share with you this well known verse in the Islamic world , it is the “Throne verse” , in arabic “Ayatatul Kursi” . It speaks about how nothing is comparable to God , that he is the glorious and all powerful . It is the 255th in the Chapter of Al-Baqarah .

“God ! There is no deity but Him, the Alive, the Eternal.
Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him.
Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth.
Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave?
He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them,
while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will.
His throne includeth the heavens and the earth,
and He is never weary of preserving them.
He is the Sublime, the Tremendous.”

Thanks

Thank you, Bashiru llah.

I like this verse, gives me a lot of comfort:
John 3:16King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

Thank you for sharing this ayat. As salamu alaykum wa rahmatullah. (May the peace and blessings of God be upon you.)

This ayat also comes before the supposedly “abrogated” ayat, which was supposed “abrogated” by 9:5.

Reads very much like Psalm 121 of the the Righteous King David, a prayer that Syriac monks and faithful have prayed daily as part of the Syriac Hours:

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From whence does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved,
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade
on your right hand.
The sun shall not smite you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and for evermore.
