I for one don’t know why people commit the injustices that they do. Out of arrogance, perhaps, or fear, or hatred.

Asking Muslims like myself and Muslim Woman why people do these things isn’t a question we can answer. What we can tell you is that this evil, and it is evil (oppression and injustice against women) is not a part of Islam, in fact it is condemned by Islam.

It’s kind of like calling Catholicism ‘Pope-ianity’ or something similarly foolish. I can’t imagine that would be a polite thing to say, or kindly taken by Catholics here for me to use that term. What you are saying offends us. The “Founding Fathers” lived in a different time–there’s nothing wrong with you choosing to use a higher and more informed word to describe my religion, the one which it calls itself: Islam.

Now to actually answer your question:

I wasn’t there, and I couldn’t do anything to stop it.

What did you do to stop it?
To keep insisting on respectable word usage in referring to Mohamed, has nothing to do with what the OP has asked.

I also have to add that I am sure if you or I were there we would most defenitely be killed also.

Maybe the OP asked HOW a woman can follow Islam knowing that this is practiced in many many parts of the world.

Is there different forms of Islam that are practiced, and how is that viewed?
