When did it change from

“This is the word of the Lord”

to

“Word of the Lord”

???

Which do you prefer?

To me the second sounds like it’s almost Hip Hop,

Like “Word to your mother”
 
It changed to “The word of the Lord.” I’m thinking it was 10, maybe 15 years ago. The reason was never given, as far as I know.

It is a more exact english translation of the latin Verbum Dei.
