Does any one have a Catholic dictionary? what does it say for the word “scrament” I’m looking for the meaning of the work.
 
I can give you the BC, A sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace.
 
Here is a definition from a latin dictionary:

sacramentum -i n.:milit. [oath of allegiance]; hence [an oath or solemn promise].
 
I don’t know if any one else has read Scott Hahn’s book Swear to God, but it is an excellent explanation on the meaning and the power of the Sacraments of the Church. It is a definite must read for anyone who as questions about them.
