From Christmas Mass during the Day, (Gospel – John 1:1-18):
…And the Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us,
and we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
full of grace and truth…

Can any of us even begin to fathom the joy of Mary and Joseph in seeing Jesus for the first time? I think not. Yet as I read the Scriptures for Mass, earlier this morning before our small Christmas crib, my heart rejoiced simply to ponder the wonder of God Who loved us so much He sent His Son, born of a woman, and sent Him as a baby!

How vulnerable a newborn is! St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face wrote: “A God who became so small can only be Love and Mercy!” One of my favorite Christmas hymns is:
Sleep! Holy Babe! upon Thy mother’s breast;
Great Lord of earth and sea and sky,
How sweet it is to see Thee lie
In such a place of rest,
In such a place of rest.

May we gaze with Mary upon His Face, not just this Christmas but always! Blessed Christmas to all.

So good to hear from you again – it seems it’s been awhile. 🙂 A Most Blessed Christmas to you and yours as well. Let me repeat that last stanza of the hymn I posted:
…Sleep! Holy Babe! while I with Mary gaze
In joy upon that face awhile,
Upon the loving infant smile
Which there divinely plays…

What an amazing Truth – God sent His Son, for love of us – and sent Him born of Mary, and so vulnerable! Preparing for Christmas, this year, I pondered how Mary carried within her for nine months the Body of Jesus growing, and in a mysterious way she was carrying not only His Physical Body but His Mystical Body. We were even then in God’s Mysterious plan, present to Him, and in a certain mystical sense carried with Him in Mary’s womb.

As I participated in Mass and received Him in Holy Communion this morning, I could only ask to love Him more, through Mary and with Mary, our Mother.

Yes, dear petra, it is! 🙂 And everyday, hopefully, by God’s grace we continue to grow in Faith, Hope and above all, Love in contemplating HIs Great Love in coming to save us! Blessings to all during this holy Christmas season!

Yes, it has been a while indeed. But, that is how college life goes haha. I am not able to visit the forums as often as I like, but I am always glad to read your very eloquent and beautifully written threads, especially now that I have some time off!

I hope you and your family are well and that Our Lord Jesus continues to bless you with interior peace, through His Mother Mary, this Christmas season and always! 🙂

Ah yes, dear Richard, I do remember how busy college days and nights can be 🙂

Thanks for taking time to read whatever the Lord gives me – I hope it blessed you and others as much as it does me in writing about Jesus and Mary. This time of year, I’m also mindful of dear St. Joseph. How loving a husband and protector of Mary and so faithful a Guardian of the Christ Child – may he watch over all of us!

Glad you are having some time off – may it be a peaceful time of resting and renewing your spirit in God’s Love, pondering all His mysteries in your heart as Mary did, Blessings now and always!
