"I don’t understand why God has to be all love and still inflict this kind of pain on people. This God is an underachiever. He does not do what he’s supposed to be doing whatever his sex is, whether he’s an it, a he, or a she or whatever. But I’m sure that if you were a God, or I were the God, I would be doing a better job. therefore the only conclusion can be that possibly God does not exist," - Sen. Meriam Santiago, the newest judge of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the first Filipino and first Asian from a developing country to sit in the tribunal that tries cases of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

gross.
nothing we can do but pray.

the UN is a farce anyways.

First of all ICC is not a component of the UN.

But, facts aside, although I would hope my faith would be strong enough to endure, it might be understandable how someone who faces the reality of witnessing the devastating effects of genocide might doubt the existence of God.

Pray for him .

Sad really. She must have had some loss in her life that made her question God. Unfortunately, her words may be used one day to strengthen those with like-minded views for their own agenda.

Her logic is flawed. She tries to insert herself into God’s role with “(if) I were God” argument. Since we can never fully understand the will of God her conclusions cannot stand.

All I can do is pray for her, and pray for myself that I am never put into a situation where my personal life events cause me to question God like that.

Is it not against the rules to call someone “damned”? Sure does not sound very “charitable”.

I’ve heard this same type of nonsense from plenty of others.

It is always easy to blame God for the sins of men.

Your bishops are on the right track in standing up to the progressives in the government, but P.I. still needs lots of prayer to remain true to it’s Catholic faith.
