Yeah, this priest being from Africa I suspect he had to know all kinds of stuff and more to be good enough to be sent from there to USA. It’s kind of like when I was an engineering student and we would have these teachers who were right off the plane from India or somewhere in the Middle East, probably because they were very cheap to hire and also probably quite brilliant to be chosen to come to USA for this job, and they would expect us to be able to do really difficult problems and only a percentage of students who were either really smart or had gone to really good schools could do them, and a lot of us would have to drop out. We learned quite quickly to try to study with American teachers or teaching assistants because they understood better what we could and couldn’t do and how to teach the students who were not super advanced. The foreign teachers would just basically call us stupid.
