Not sure if this is the right place for this, but seems the best fit?

WIth no TV and tucked away here in deep rural Ireland, I fear I am out of touch with some aspects of our PC world

With being abed so much these last weeks and since I gained wifi,I have been watching youtube, especially the last while old episodes of the long running BBC series, “Casualty”
This has ben running three decades incredibly and reflects so much of what is happening in the UK as the years have passed and the times have changed.

I gathered gay was IN ages ago but … Today one episode I watched focussed on a gay wedding of all things. Bride number1 was heavily pregnant ( white dresses and all…)and her "wife "wore a false n whatever they call it, as did all the women guests… Totally bizarre and surreal,

Bride number 1 had invited her dad, hostile to all this, and of course as they always end up in the Emergency Room, the canopy etc collapsed, Bride one ends up having the baby and then Dad is in earnest talk with Bride 2 who quotes the Sermon on the Mount in ringing sincerity to wrong foot him … All was so plausible…

Another episode featured two old ladies who were partners and very lovey dovey, as one did a while ago when the staff helped another older lesbian couple gt to their wedding …

This probably is what is seen all the time? I had no idea. Shell shocked…

And so plausible that these were good peopel ,full of love for their partners

Oh and bride 2 died as did the two old ladies, who dies within minutes of each other… th ehumanity and sincerity was strongly emphasised and all very pro gay…

It is another world?

Right you are Rose, right you are.

You haven’t really been missing much but there’s more LGBTQ propaganda on Tv than I ever wanted to see and it’s sickening. As you noted it’s all portrayed as normal and oh so human but it’s just sick rubbish that serves no purpose but to infer to the young that it’s all normal and nice.

One series my wife and I were watching for a while called Mr. Robot had a fairly explicit gay sex scene between two men that put paid to our interest in the series. I wanted to puke…

I don’t have anything charitable to say about the gay lifestyle, so I will pass and say nothing at all.

We don’t need to be charitable toward “lifestyles,” but as for me, no-one has named me to be their judge, so I will forebear to act like one.

We will all go to Purgatory for something!

ICXC NIKA.

I’m worried about even getting into purgatory … I am a sinner in need of mercy … comes with the territory of being 55 years old … and having lived on this earth … I don’t see a day go by where I am not in need of mercy. What I meant by my firsts remark was that I have already said too much bad about the gay lifestyle … I’m just trying my best to be more charitable today after just having received communion. I understand that people discuss this topic, and they have every right to … this is just a personal thing for me today.

I don’t watch any of that stuff on Utube. Utube has better, some rally good, informative, even old classic shows and comedic shows and movies. Also, lots of religious history, Bishop Barron, church music of all kinds and recipes. You have ample good stuff to pick and chose from, so why watch garbage? I think we are slowly seeing the pendulum of morality and ethics swing back to its correct position in the alinement of time. Lets all help the clock go forward. We DO get to pick and chose what we watch on Utube.👍

I’m afraid this is a description of the world and media today. These are popular views. This is one of the reasons I don’t have TV anymore - lots of brainwashing happening.

Yes, I feel sorry for my DH and I who sometimes get smattered with LGBT on TV, but we can turn the channel. Nothing against the people but the behavior… Like I said, we can turn the channel but the children hear about it and it’s pushed on them from all angles… the ones I feel so sorry for are the children. Didn’t our Lord say “Woe to those who lead the little ones astray?”

I am tired of having the gay agenda forced upon us. We don’t have to judge them but why do they try to force us to accept their lifestyle? I feel like they are taking over. We can’t refuse to bake a cake without getting sued. They want tolerance but they don’t tolerate people who don’t believe like they do. They are a very small minority but very vocal.
Every year they ruin the Boston St. Patrick’s day parade.

This is why I stopped watching TV. In the end up every time I watch a programme be it the soaps, drama, music video’s etc the gay agenda was being pushed on us.

I agree.

Thanks, Therese. I have nothing against them. I just don’t like when they call people who think gay “marriage” is wrong homophobes or haters.

Purgatory: It’s **NOT **
just for Catholics anymore!!!😃 Everyone better hope so.

And I think it’s important that we are sure to teach our kids the truth so they don’t fall for that rubbish.

Yep, that’s an accurate assessment. Perhaps what we need is a Catholic Clarence Darrow. because the original was absolutely right when he said. "There is no such thing as justice - in or out of court. "

Casualty is not “garbage”: far from it. IT has strength and grit and humanity. I have followed it through and learned so much.

Classic BBC is great. And is meat for me. I do not believe we should live in ivory towers. All of it is teaching me how to respond with compassion to others…BUT also that perforce I am living in an ivory tower… chronic and increasing illness and old age bring that about. I should not close my doors against these things .
,
Learning what goes on out there and if ii s a cutlure shock

I hate most of what you list actually and I do pick and choose… a strong storyline Love youtube for the variety too,

Thank you for so much resonance.

I do need to know what is happening, for prayer and sometimes I get asked. It makes me stronger and also I can see the reality of human love; and that is the crux,

Watching the ethos change over the years like time lapse photgraphy… And also in that series, any vicar or priest or nun is depicted very unfavourably indeed… lampooned.

Increasingly thankful I am not back in the UK and watching the brexit fall out carefully… lest I end up getting deported!!

Yes exactly so. Oh spotted a bad typo of mine… ALl the women wore a false pregnancy prosthesis! Really surreal… Series 30 this is and thus only last year of course…

Oh there have always been male gay bits, yukk… triple yukk… but the female verison, apt from the butch gay paramedic, is new

So I arrive neatly at the right conclusion that yes, these are caring folk who do so much good BUT … a huge BUT…

And so rarely met in real life… one young mother in a nearby village is gay and one nitter woman is gay but in denial and has waged war on me for my faith… then there is the barrister I crossed swords with who is quite clearly gay, but married for career reasons… and once a man at my stall said he would go and get his husband…

The problem with it all is too that they take our faith as a personal insult?
