for one thing, isn’t Haiti famous for their voodoo stuff? while many people are Catholics and may go regularly to church, they also still believe in superstition. if one is to believe that the natural calamity is a result of God’s Wrath, its just further proof that branding yourself as a certain religion but not committing yourself to the fullness of the faith doesn’t automatically save you. not just because you call yourself Christian then you are saved. you still have to follow Jesus, to the word, to the letter, of ALL His commandments

Voodoo is the official religion of Haiti.

How do the non Catholics on CAF respond to threads like this? Does anyone here agree with these opinions? If you do can you state your reasons.

I believe that this world is not of God in the sense of weather or other terrible crisis, after the fall I feel that God has given free reign over the earth to us and nature. Of course He does intercede at times, but I don’t believe God punishes us with natural disasters. We will all be accountable for our actions or non actions when our soul leaves our bodies.

Suffering is part of life. Jesus Christ suffered the ultimate suffering for the sake of the whole world. Do these people also feel He was being punished, if you use their logic I guess so. Because if you don’t agree with their beliefs you will be punished by God.

I just wondered how others on CAF would respond to these posters. I only lurk, don’t have the courage or fortitude to post. Sometimes I get a good laugh at their ignorance, but I also actually feel sick at some of their accusations against the Church and anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

TS123’s point was an attempt to cast doubts on the validity of the Catholic Church, when in actuality, TS123 misinterpreted the editorials, which were really a Catholic editorial asking why Bible only Protestants worshipped on the same day as Catholics, since they couldn’t show the Sabbath had changed in scriptures. In short, it had the appearances of Protestants following a tradition of the Catholic Church. Of course those articles were over 100 years old and we all know editorials are no more than a person’s opinion.
 
Further evidence that Pat Robertson is on crack and thinks he’s on the Magical Mystery Tour…Pat’s a humdinger for sure…I wasn’t thrilled with Rush Limbaugh’s callous comments about Haiti either.

Those CARM folks are something else. What they say about the Eucharist and Padre Pio is pure evil. And they call themselves followers of Christ?

I would truly question the sanity of some of those people, in all seriousness. Even in my fundamentalist days I would not have said such things.
Wonder how many of these people would pull up their sleaves, go to Haiti and pull people out of the rubble themselves.

Rush Limmbaugh, is a jurk, when he said he hope BO fai/ls that when I stop watching him,even I did not vote for BO he is still the pres.of the co. and does not need to failhe is doing his best to bring this co.down

I have seen it claimed that Haiti is 68% Catholic, 32% Protestant and 100% Voodoo. Probably a bit of exaggeration, but near the truth.😦
 
I have to wonder why any of what they believe is important to their need at this time. Did Christ avoid the sinner?
