In The First Letter to the Corinthians, a footnote mentioned:

7, 29-31: The world...is passing away: Paul addresses Christians to go about the ordinary activities of life in a manner different from those who are totally immersed in them and unaware of their transitoriness.     

Chapter 7 Verse 29 states:    
 From now on, let those having wives act as not having them,       

Please explain about the transitoriness.

Our human efforts are transitory because either a) we are gonna roll our eyes back; or b) the world itself will come to an end. Either way, our personal worlds and everything in them will finalize.
