A Catholic “theocracy” wouldn’t be an actual theocracy.

The Church merely guides, by suggestion, the temporal authority as to how it should act morally/ethically.

But, I would most certainly choose to live in a temporal society which is completely guided (by choice) by the Church in matters of morality/ethics.

If the USCCB (Unites States Conference of Catholic Bishops) was given complete civil control of the United States then I’m pretty sure we would be living in a Catholic theocracy.

From what I understand, Calvin arguably ran a theocracy in Switzerland (I think) that involved some executions. Do I remember that right?
 
I would much prefer it to the alternative (being killed in a theocracy) 😉
