Theology of icons

Sorry if this isn’t the correct board, but given that icons are more common in the East than in the West, I thought I’d post this here. Does anyone know where I can find some good webpages that describe the theology of icons? I’ve become quite interested in it lately because of a comment that I recently heard - that the depicted are present “personally”, though not materially - and so would like to look into the matter some more. If any one can help, I’d be much obliged.

This one is kind of longer, but this is related to the period of “iconoclasm”. It’s by St.John of Damascus, one of the best theologians in my opinion.

What exactly is understood as “person” so that the subject of the icon is present “personally”?
