A good test occurs to me: Would you feel comfortable taking your Priest to the restaurant in question?

Naturally, I would not want to take my Priest to eat at Hooters 😃 And if I would not want to do that, then I should not be going either.
Actually, I like that one.

HOOTERS does objectify women! It is a “light” strip club. The Hooters “girls” flirt with their male customers for tips. They bend over to give a full show of their cleavage. It’s all putting on a show for tips. And, not just tips, but to make the male customers feel good about themselves. And, when the male customers feel like hot stuff, they are going to spread the word about how great Hooters is.

Just look at the Hooters girls uniform! That is objectification! Look at the fact that no male can be on the waitstaff. Hooters girls are required to wear their hair down. (No ponytails or chignons… and these ladies are handling the food!)

And look at the logo. The two "O"s in Hooters look an awful lot like areola. And, when a woman wears the shirt, the Os do match up with her areolas, more or less. And how about the slogan. “Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined”. Ew!!!

Don’t forget Hooters “girls” are also in sexy calenders and on billboards. Have you ever seen a Hooters billboard? It’s a free show for the cleavage. And the “girls” are usually lying down… subservient, sexual, etc. Disgusting.

Also, I do not believe that the women are working at Hooters for the money. There are other places where one can get money, other restaurants. If a woman can take the time to fill out a Hooters application, she can fill out applications at Red Lobster, TGI Friday’s, etc.I do not believe that the women are “forced” to work their for money. Not in the US and Canada, no way! I have seen people who needed money and found jobs that did not involve displaying their goodies.

That said, I believe society has conditioned women to believe it is okay to objectify yourself for WHATEVER reason. And Hooters perpetuates this idea.
