God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - is the source of all graces. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the mediatrix of all graces, meaning that all graces flow through her to humankind from the Holy Trinity. Mary has beem described as the neck connecting the body (the members of the Church) to the head (Jesus Christ).Ok I want to make sure I am understanding things right. Mary is the one to go to for graces. The son or Jesus is the one for salvation but what is the Father’s function? Mary also helps us come to Jesus right? And Jesus points to the father.

I haven’t seen the movie but maybe his prayer life enjoys God’s active participation. Perhaps he feels he can’t be lifted to those lofty heights of prayer if grace is obstructed?In the movie “The Rite” Anthony Hopkins said to his preist cohort, “I am no longer in a state of grace and cannot pray.”

The way I understand it the first contact with god through Jesus the mediator is via baptism. That gets rid of the original sin anyway whatever that really was. I have read that Augustine is the doctor of grace and in reading about grace I have came into the idea of Justification too. What’s the difference in grace and faith?

State of grace means the divine indwelling of the Holy Spirit within the person making
the person acceptable and holy in all things. This is given in Baptism and will remain
unless the person violates the temple with serious sin. Then the person is said to be
in the state of sin, losing the state of grace. The sacrament of reconciliation will
restore the state of grace. When the state of grace within the person is lost, then
the power of charity is lost also. St. Paul says that if a person gives over his body to be
burned but has not charity, it is worthless, or of no value in the eyes of God.
However tho charity is lost, faith remains and the person can and should make acts of
faith thru prayer, especially prayer asking God for the grace of repentance. Anyone in
any state of soul may ask and should ask God for the grace of forgiveness.
Ok you've brought up two new very important subjects. And btw I very much like your statement. Short and too the point. All these graces you hear about sanctifying grace and actual grace I guess all depend on a simple state of grace.
But what is charity?
