Not sure if this is the right place for this but here is a quote from a book i am reading:
"The Christ statue was looking toward the ceiling plaintively. His eyes were open wide, as if He were surprised to find Himself nailed to the Cross. Perhaps the Son of Man thought that at the last moment His Father would show mercy, that His own fatal prophecy would not be fulfilledMy God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

The book takes place during the Crusades and (probably realistically for the times) portrays the Church as quiet corrupt. But i would still recommend it.
But what do you guys think about that
