Certain other things are natural insest, pedophilia, multiple sex partners. The fact that all this is a moral issue in humans show that we are not animals. In fact it’s because we are people; people deserving of love because of our very personhood.
Pope John Paul says this in “Love and Responcibility”, “not only because persons are aware of the purpose of sexual life, but also because they are aware that they are persons. The whole moral problem of ‘using’ as the antithesis of love is connected with this knowledge of theirs” (p. 33).
I don’t think using animals is a good argument because even those perpetuating it acknowledge we are not animals. The real issue is where do we draw the line? What really makes us different than animals? I think PJPII did a good job above. But then what constitutes love and use, and how can it be applied to homosexuals?
