THere are 6 billion of us on the planet. How many should there be?

As many as God will create, not as man intends!

His will be done!

Not a trap really. But I think it becomes clearer everyday that our resources are not limited and dwindling. Clean water is becoming something worth killing over and the problem isn’t going away.
When I was in highschool, there were 3 billion people in the world. Before I die, it is possible there will be 9 billion.

Is this a problem?

Perhaps you’d like to “thin out our numbers”. You go first. We’ll be right behind you. I promise 😃

I think that certain aspects of environmental protectionism and population control are covers for something far more sinister. The greatest atrocities in our history as humans always started with such good and noble intentions.

I’m just not a fan of ends justifiers. And, I will never trust man in deciding who should be allowed to live, who should be allowed to procreate, or what lives are worth living.

Then you should be a huge fan in promoting ways of living that use resources in a far more efficient way.

God through nature, changes fertility rates to prevent the planet from over populating.

BTW, there’s as much water on the planet as their was after day 6of the creation account.

drinking water is not the same as it was and even if it were, it now has to service 6 billion instead of two.

Water evaporates and condensates, returning to earth as pure as day one.

There is no shortage of clean drinking water.

There is the displacement of people, through social/economical upheavals, which causes most of the suffering in the world. However, the world produces enough clean water and food, to feed all humankind.

Jim

4,500 children die every day from lack of clean water.
But it has to do with where they’re forced to live, not for the lack of clean drinking water on the earth.

This has more to do with social/economic power struggles, than anything else.

Jim

Does anyone really believe that the population on earth isn’t affecting drinking water?

First there are too many people, now you mourn the deaths of children. Perhaps the issue is not a simple as you think, or are you as unwilling as we are to let the end justify the means?.

As the population increases, more water is needed for crops. It’s distribution patterns also affect availability.

It is obvioius that as a resource it is adversely effected by populations.

The WHO, the UN and the 4,500 dead children today would disagree.
The UN has a very unimpressive record when it comes to actually distributing aid and relief to the world. It’s a black hole of money and corruption. If you want somebody to blame, blame the distributors these children depend on. Or, better yet, grab your gear and volunteer.
