That sounds good - would it always be practical ? And would it be sound liturgical practice ?​

IMO, there should be a complete prohibition on the use of the names of celebrities in Baptism: positively stated, names should be those of Saints, or of Biblical characters, or virtues or other attractive qualities - so:

• Abraham
• Aloysius
• Felicity
  would be “in” - while:
• Skylab
• Brooklyn
• Peaches
  would be “out”

And parents should be exhorted to choose only names & intials that would not make their children’s lives a living hell.

I had a dog named Peaches when I was growing up (of course, this was due to the color of her fur).

Personally, I think all things can and should be used to help us remember our Lord. For example, our cat (that we have currently) was named Fr. Tom because it is all black with a white patch on the neck that resembles a Roman collar; we now call her Thomasita because when we took “him” to get neutered we were informed that “she” would have to be spayed instead . . .

One of my grandmother’s uncles was a friend of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy’s father. He spoke of him a lot. So my father and his brothers named one of their cats Fitzgerald. Then Fitzgerald had kittens and was renamed Fitzy.
