I just wanted to update those who had gotten involved with my previous post titled, “The Mormons are Coming”.
They did in fact end up coming. It was a good meeting, (for those Mormon posters, yes I was respectful).
We talked for about an hour and a half. There were questions that I had that they were not able to answer and they said they would get back to me. I did end up getting my BoM that I wanted. They originally said they would lend it to me, but I said I wanted to write in it. They finally said I could have it as long as I didn’t desecrate it.
I think I have better things to do than that
One thing that stuck out to me that majorly concerned me was our discussion on abortion. They basically said they were okay with it as long as the mother had thought and prayed long and hard about it and were doing what they felt God was calling them to do. I had big problems with that. There were other things of course that we discussed that I had my concerns about, but this more than anything else had me going
huh?
Anyways, it was good. They were nice people. They got to see that there are Catholics who read and know the Scriptures and that we can be very respectful towards them and their beliefs. They also got a little Church history from a perspective that they were probably not so use to. All in all, not too bad.
God bless
