they have no clue what they are missing! they have their own belief system that doesn’t include Christ. they miss out on His birth, His life, and His death and resurrection and His glorious ascension into heaven. They detail every facet of His life differently than we do.
we know we have the Truth in our faith. but they also believe they have the truth in theirs. yet, they don’t. they have loneliness in the truest sense of the word. meaning, they do not truly have Christ.
it must be a pretty lonely life to be separate from God.
now imagine a soul that is truly lonely, only that they know that they are lonely. yet, they stay in their faith because its all they know. they are afraid to break the ties they have because its all they have. they are afraid to embrace freedom, so they continue on living their lonely lives without Jesus Christ.
i cannot imagine myself being so spiritually alone, separate from God. no ties to Him what so ever spiritually. it is a vast emptiness i cannot fathom now, but one that i did fathom while i was in their shoes.
they often walk by the store windows, or by a church with a beautiful warm welcoming nativity scene and feel deep loneliness and a vast emptiness in their soul. i know because i was one of them that felt that way once, and have heard countless stories of the same feeling.
now imagine the loneliness they feel when they walk by a home on Christmas night, and see all those lovely warm homey lights in the windows, and know that these families are with ones they love and celebrating the birth of our Lord. and they would like to have that same feeling, but they can’t because of their loyalty to their faith.
imagine at easter time, when they know Christ is gloriously resurrected, and all they can think of is how there belief denies how Christ was resurrected. sometimes they often walk by a church and see how joyful people are at this time of year. their vast loneliness just grows. but again, they brush it off because of their loyalty to their belief.
this same scenario often gets repeated year round world wide. everyday, the world over there are thousands of jehovah’s witnesses that feel spiritually lonely and empty. the holidays are often the hardest times for them, or when a loved one celebrates a birthday, or easter comes along. these are all very hard for these type of witnesses to deal with. often i have heard many times over how badly they would want to celebrate Christmas, or walk by a beautiful church and see a nativity scene and they would feel vast emptiness because their own belief has done away with Christmas.
and the tales of what they are missing never stop and they go on and on and on. everytime a witness leaves the society, that is one less person they control. one less person to influence, and one more person that might walk straight to Christ and His True Church, and a life of blessings beyond imagination. a life of spiritual fulfillment and joy beyond anything they had in their former belief. but in the meantime, those that are still in there don’t know what they are missing: Jesus Christ.
