Okay ladies, our turn now. 😃

I’ll start by posting the list from the bookFor Men Only by Shaunti and Jeff Feldhahn. (Great book guys šŸ‘ And yes, I read it–you should too.;))

I realize these are broad generalizations so feel free to add your own comments.

#1 Reassurance–We need reassurance that you still love us. Say you love her and let her know your need for space isn’t because of something she did wrong.
#2 Emotions-We have involuntary emotions sometimes. Don’t tell us ā€œjust don’t think about itā€.
#3 Security-for most women, emotional security is more important than financial security. Most women are willing to downsize their lifestyles to have their men around more.
#4 Listening–acknowledge her feelings. Rather than focussing on fixing the problem, filter out the problems in order to focus on the feelings.
#5 Sex—Create a context of closeness and emotional security outside the bedroom. Most women are wired to crave sex less than men and we need emotional warm up.
#6 Beauty Most women have a deep desire to know their husbands find them beautiful. Looking at other women undermines that. Guard your eyes and tell her she’s beautiful regularly.

Yay! I know all those!

Well…Not from personal experience for most of them (Especially #5…) but I’m glad that I understand all this!!

That every human being is unique, and what is on the list for one woman is not even a thought for another.

That’s very true.
Which is why it is up to the man to know his wife’s personality and what she is sensitive to.

If, let’s say, I get married and my wife is very secure in controlling her emotions and not letting things get to her…but she still LOVES to hear me say ā€œI love youā€
I’ll do that!
But I won’t abandon her emotions either. Because women can also be kinda fickle. And once you think you’ve figured them out…they throw a curve ball to keep you guessing šŸ˜‰

Sounds exciting…I can’t wait 😃

Very true.

I bought the book For Men Only for my husband. The points were based upon interviews and surveys with women, but not every women agreed with all the points. I helped my husband read through the books by highlighting for him the points most important to me and noting what didn’t apply. (Wouldn’t most guys would just love that kind of help from the special ladies in their life. šŸ˜› )

And guys, even if your lady doesn’t highlight it, the book is an easy read and it comes with a ā€œquick start guideā€/cheat sheet that briefly summarizes the main points. If in doubt about a point, ask her. Many (if not most) of us love talking about our relationships with you.

I don’t know if this is true for all women, but it’s true for me…especially since we are in a tight budget.

When I handle money, it is a priority for me to use it in a way that first honors relationships. So, for me, paying a medical bill, esp for a primary doctor, is a high priority. And, putting money aside for a wedding, birthday, or other gift giving–this is important to me, too.

But, to my dh, when the budget is really, really tight, the commitments to our medical bills and gift giving can be delayed until we can catch up. It doesn’t bother him in the least.

I can see that he is being more logical–our mortgage, utilities, and other essential bills should come first. But, it really stresses me out that these other relationships oriented money matters are being neglected.

Any other ladies like me?

Well heck, if y’all wanted a laundry list of what makes a model husband, all ya had to was PM ME. šŸ˜›
