I’ve worked a lot with Jehovah’s Witnesses and consider them to be, for the most part, honest kind people but just like we see here, stubborn. I can see one a mile away.
Then why did you ask:I have not had to look into it because I accept that the Church has taught and that this is on the calendar as a holy day of obligation so it is not rate highly regarding things to question or discuss.
I do not believe it originated as private revelation because I accept that what the Church has taught on that. To believe that it did come to us, originally, as private revelation puts the Church’s teaching on such revelation in a questionable light at best.
I have not looked into it (it is not high on the list for me) but would it have FIRST come to us in private revelation or from early writings of the Church?
You’re completely misunderstanding me. What I mean is, Jesus Christ is the life and the all of the Church. Without him, there is no Church. That is all I mean. I apologize if I didn’t make that clear.Ridiculous, not even on the Bible?
As for Tradition, there is plenty about that, largely from St. Paul himself.
**“Take as a model of sound teaching what you have heard me say, in faith and love in Christ Jesus. Guard the rich deposit of faith with the help of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us” ** 2nd Letter to Timothy 1:13-14
Nothing is better than Thessalonians 2: 15
"So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter"
Even your link in the signature Nickname has something about the Church Fathers. You’re completely misunderstanding me. What I mean is, Jesus Christ is the life and the all of the Church. Without him, there is no Church. That is all I mean. I apologize if I didn’t make that clear.
