If it’s already gone cold, yep. My mother microwaves just-brewed coffee because no coffee machine in existence can make it hot enough for her. :woman_shrugging:t2: I’ve taken a sip; it’s okay. Or maybe I couldn’t tell since I’d singed my tongue.

(Dad told her to buy her coffee at McDonald’s 🤣)

Chinese take out must be reheated .
It tastes gross when it’s cold…

I’m trying to think here… I’ll eat almost anything the second day as long as it’s heated.

I’ve got to go with salad that already has salad dressing and croutons on it. There’s nothing worse than wilted lettuce and soggy croutons!

There is a cold Chinese noodle dish called “ants climbing logs”. It’s made with rice noodle, cooked pork, and very spicy sauce. It’s great the next day. Most cold Chinese dishes are great even a couple of days in. You’d have to go to a China Town or China to get them, though…

French fries.

Mashed potatoes.
Something that I would like to try making with leftover mashed potatoes, is mashed potato pancakes. They’re supposed to be really good when made that way.

I like to eat mashed potatoes reheated though, so they never get around to becoming mashed potato pancakes! 😁 😉

I have to agree…

Sometimes I’m not able to finish all of the salad that I’ve made to eat with my dinner, so I’ll try and save it for the next day. It will already have some dressing on it, but it’s just soggy, and the lettuce will have turned soggy, too.

The salad will sometimes also be a bit saturated with dressing, so it’s just not the same as a freshly dressed and crispy salad anymore.

Yeah true! For me, the good news is I simply don’t mind soggy crutons, wilted lettuce, and watered down dressing, so I eat it anyway. Much to the chagrin of my sister, who kinda turns away and gags.

Do you mean Hot Pockets don’t taste good the second day? It’s been a while since I ate one of those, but as I recall, the crust gets really hard and tough if you don’t eat them soon after they are cooked… the second hour, nevermind the second day.

Fries were my first thought when I read the title of this thread. I especially love the skinny fries at Steak and Shake, but when I get my plate, I eat all the fries right away because they really don’t taste very good once they’re cold.

Most types of dinner rolls.
Donuts.
A salad with dressing.
Anything that you put in the fridge only to see the white fat solidify on top. You can heat it up, but you can’t unsee it.
I agree with you regarding the donuts and the bakery dinner rolls.

If they’re fresh from the bakery or supermarket bakery dept., they seem to get stale quite fast.

I have found with donuts that they stay fresher longer if I take them out of the box that they’re in, and put them carefully in a Ziplock-type bag. That way, no extra air can get into them to speed up the drying out process. 🙂

WHAT kind of cake do you eat? WADR, cake is very moist, for some reason, and is just as good the second day as the first, is it not?

Same with tortilla chips from a Mexican restaurant.
Or even from Buffalo Wild Wings. I went to BWW last week – they initially brought me the wrong side with my order, tortilla chips. I had ordered buffalo chips. They let me keep the tortilla chips, on the house, and I had them boxed up to go. When I finally had them a couple of days later, they had been in the fridge, and were frankly stale and flavorless. I don’t know if it was being in the fridge or if BWW’s tortilla chips are just bad.
