Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night (fibromyalgia sleep issues or my husband is awake with sleep anxiety)…and I can’t fall asleep for the love of money. I tend to think about adulterous stuff which is a sin.

Hubby and I sleep apart since we both suffer sleep anxiety issues so we’re in the same room but different beds. I can’t wake him up or talk to him.

I’ve tried praying the rosary and it keeps me awake, also my brain tends to drift and then I get weird dreams while falling asleep thinking about saints.

Any ideas? Other than being on Tumblr on my phone and listening to Breaking Benjamin…no idea what to do. I’ve been thinking of writing a romance novel (clean) the past couple of years but I don’t think that’s good to think about anyway.

Any tips?

Thanks!

Kat

Usually the rosary puts me back to sleep. If not I get up and make some camomile tea with honey and sip on that til I am sleepy again. Linden tea also helps soothe the nerves.

Watch EWTN…those two bearded guys talking to each other in all their shows are always a snore!

Find quality books that you’ve always wanted to read but that might be boring. Force yourself to keep reading even when you start to get sleepy. Before you know it, you’ll be asleep. Over time you’ll have read some quality books!

Just a few suggestions for sleep maintenance. It is important that you go to bed and wake up at the same time everyday during a battle with insomnia. Don’t go to sleep until you feel tired. Don’t use your bed for anything but sex and sleep. Have a bedtime routine. I like to exercise lightly about an hour before bed. (not moderate to intense) Helpful: pain relievers not only to relieve pain but to cool your body down which helps induce sleep. Also, cherries have natural melatonin which can keep you asleep and re-set your clock.
