I know this is kind of weird, but I find myself thinking about sex with my husband a lot. (Maybe not so weird, haha…) I think about what it feels like, what I enjoy, what I don’t enjoy, etc. I don’t do this to arouse myself, I just like thinking about it, in the same way that I like thinking about a lot of experiences. Would these thoughts be considered impure/unchaste and sinful?

I’m afraid the diagnosis is not good…

Just kidding 😃 it’s perfectly normal and a healthy part of your marital life.

Well my regular confessor says no it not a sin to think about sex with your husband. He is known for his loyalty to the magisterium and is an excellent confessor so I trust what he tells me.

Uhhhh… why would it be wrong to think about, reminisce about, or look forward to, sexual experiences with one’s own husband?

You say you do this to arouse yourself… do you do that for the benefit of your husband? I mean, do you go and take out your desire for sex on him? If so, then you’re fine. 😃

Lord, no wonder people think Catholics are obsessed with making themselves feel guilty about sex. I am not criticizing you for asking, little_flower. I am critical of the environment that gets created where someone feels the need to ask this, though! 🤷

P.S. Just saw from your signature that you are a VERY newlywed! I would be worried about you if you weren’t thinking about sex! 😃

Congratulations on your marriage!
God grant that you will always be loving and understanding with each other and continue to delight in each other as your marriage grows in depth and grace through both difficulties and joys!

I said i DON’T do it to arouse myself… and my reason for asking is because I have fallen into sins which involved impure thoughts, etc., so I wanted to be sure my judgment was correct in thinking it was not sinful. thank you for your help.
