For those here who own third class relics… where do you keep them?
and how should they be venerated?
thank you
thank you
Mine is around my neck. I draw reminder , inspiration, and it increase my connection. To me the icon is like having a locket of my daughters hair. I do not think I even venerate the relic but I venerate with the relic because the connection helps to tie my faith into a person or event that deep.y affects me or deeply awakens me.For those here who own third class relics… where do you keep them?and how should they be venerated?

We have two first class relics which come out of the church safe to be venerated at appropriate times. Since I’m usually the one that gets them out, I must be a third class relic. And there I was thinking I was only an ancient monumentSince 3rd class relics are those that have been touched to a first class relic
Yes, it becomes a first class relic. Even if you touch it to the reliquary it still becomes a 3rd class relic. I use to think that you had to touch the item directly to the bones or skin of the saint but I was mistaken.I would just like to clarify:
When somebody touches something to a 1st class relic then it becomes a 3rd class relic, right? What if somebody touches something to the reliquary containing the 1st class relic; does that make it a relic too?
Nothing can become a 1st class relic after beatification. When a person is beatified certain objects become 1st class relics at that time. Their body and parts thereof.Yes, it becomes a first class relic. Even if you touch it to the reliquary it still becomes a 3rd class relic. In speaking recently with a gentleman who has dedicated his whole life to promoting the veneration of relics, he said that all that was necessary to make something a first class relic was to touch the item you are looking to make a 3rd class relic to the reliquary or tomb of the saint.
God bless
