the counted the same way we do today. sundown Holy Thursday to sundown Good Friday, the sacrifice of calvary as prefigured in the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, and ending with the entombment, the first day. Sundown Friday to Sundown Saturday the second day, the day of waiting for fulfillment, the day of mourning. Sundown Saturday to midnight Sunday, the Third Day, as in “I will rise again on the Third Day.” Read the gospels, the entire third day, Sunday, is resurrection day, as he appears first to the women then to several disciples, and lastly to the gathered apostles, the day he accomplishes the very real Work of the resurrection. He did not say “I will rise again precisely 72 hours after I expire.”
