Third Degree Relic of St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Hello, Dear Friends in Christ:

I recently acquired a Third Degree relic of St. Thérèse of Lisieux from Discalced Carmelite sisters. Now, I’m wondering, how do I use the relic in my spiritual life?

I guess that depends on what the relic is. I have a crucifix and two medals that I wear that were touched to the relics of several Saints, thus making these objects third-class relics. So I use my relics by wearing them.

If it’s a prayer card, you could place it in a prayer book, a Bible, the missal, or in your wallet – just somewhere you’ll see it often and be reminded of your friend in heaven, and ask for her prayers, and be encouraged by her holiness of life.

What a great thing to have…how does one obtain a relic?

Like Gertabelle said, I would put the relic some place safe, either worn, hung in the home, on a shelf, in a Bible, etc. 👍

One problem, Sisters of Carmel are a renegade order in Colorado Springs, CO. They are in schism, and exist without the permission of the Bishop of Colorado Springs. They look like Carmelite nuns, but have no affiliation to the Carmelites.

I live in a neighboring Archdiocese, and have been praying for them to come home for a long time.

The Society of the Little Flower is a legitimate Carmelite organization based in Darian, ILL.

Hi Lisa,

Actually, I have one that I wear everyday. I just bought a big spool of good quality red cord to match the red cloth background of the reliquary.
 
It sure sounds like a great comfort, and nice reminder of the Little Flower.

Keep in mind, you cannot buy the relic. You are paying for the container and the postage.
