Ok, on the laughing scale of just being silly, what score would you give this thread title?

2 laugh at fifth grader who says that
3 ask a middle school child, are you drunk?
4 ask an adult, your kidding right?
5 ask a cultist, are you drunk or pulling my leg?
6 please put on your thinking cap
7 do you own a thinking cap?

9 ROFL
10 one of the funniest things you ever heard

Me: I put it on a 10.

I don’t really get your thread?

About which author and which thread are we talking here?

Maybe you should ponder the silliness of your OWN thread:rolleyes:
Was that supposed to be a dig at someone (who you don’t want to name) who used that title for one of their threads?

Not sure that I can find a place for my reaction in your checklist. 🙂

When I see “This author is without bias” (or something similar) I just think “This author is a fundamentalist of some sort. I could read this for a laugh, but I probably shouldn’t indulge my curiousity”.

There is an old, old book titled, “The Roman Catholic Church and the Roman Catholic Bible,” that is an attack on the Church, and in the foreword it is written: “(the author) is a plain business man with no dyed-in-the-wool bias.”

No diggs intended.

Often you will hear someone claim that an author is authoritive because he is objective and has no bias. Sometimes, one will hear this about an author say who is writting about bible translations as a working example.

Nor, do I have any specific thread in mind either.

As for not seeing your reaction, fill in your own list with your selection.

I am sure there could be better comments from you all next to each number or score.

😉

Well, someone here recently tried to pass off an obviously slanted pseudoscientific paper by a researcher with less than impeccable credentials as an unbiased piece of “competent scholarship”.

I lol’d. 😃

Some other good self-descriptions:

*Fox News - Fair and Balanced *

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, ie. North Korea. (pre 1989, every murderous, communist regime was “Democratic”)

Peoples’ court

“This author is without bias” is comparitively humorous and harmless 🙂

Another good one:
