Fr Corapi is a good lesson to me, that without some silence in your life and without obedience you don’t really have Christ.
I think the lesson is to remain vigilante, to stay awake & alert. The Holy Spirit lives in all the baptised & the Holy Trinity is one. Where you find the one, the others are as well.

Fr Corapi did a lot of good work, through Christ, through the Blessed Virgin.

Satan returns with a vengence when a sinful soul recovers from the first attack. Despair is his tool and keeping one deep is the goal - getting well and strong is possible with Jesus.

If drugs were involved, well they can really mess with a person’s head as well as soul. Very good to hear he has returned to his religious community for healing. I know several people who were really taken with him when he was on TV.

He did not leave the priesthood, but is not in active ministry and it was all lies. No one stood up for him and he resigned from the community he belonged to. The court case never happened. His works are great and people to this day either believe he was innocent or choose to believe the lies without getting the facts. He is a hermit and his works are still on YouTube.

Bit of a false dichotomy there isn’t it?

I do not believe he was innocent, and I did what few facts that were available to the public.
But that doesn’t appear in your binary set of conditions.

Peace. It is pleasant you support Father but you seem to imply his is guilty. Rumors which have never been proven. Abandoned he was and lied about but never forsaken by God, his true friends or Our Lady.

Fake news is all over the place and as proven in the times we live in, not all those in the hierarchy or in some religious communities get the facts right or have the courage to stand up against lawyers who are dishonest and filled with greed.

Do you have evidence you would like us to review? As I recall, he left the priesthood on his own after disobedience.

I listened to this last video before posting, and, although it’s a powerful statement, I don’t see what it has to do with his status, at this point. I remember, there was a lot of rumor and innuendo , but the thing that caused his quitting his separation from the priesthood was…

…he was ordered by the head of his community, who he was his immediate superior, whom he had vowed to obey, to leave his home, and move to a monastery on SOLT owned land. He refused. The next thing I remember was his announcement that he was leaving his priestly state, and would now be known as ‘the Black Sheepdog’. Now, I hadn’t been a regular follower, but I was familiar with some of his broadcasts, and it seemed to me…well, a little strange.

And, if a firmer employee was speaking, and it was deemed to be in defiance to a non-disclosure statement he had had his employees sign, I don’t see where the problem would be, unless he has been doing something in defiance of church teaching, or the teaching of the group (SOLT).which he had vowed to obey. And if it was, and was all lies, wouldn’t he welcome the opportunity to defend himself, rather than go after his former employee. Wouldn’t a better man, a better priest, welcome the chance to return to his roots? Was he so wrapped up in materialism?

Again, I don’t know much about this. But, he does seem to want to hide something. May his return to the truth be quick, or any injustice he has suffered heal .

Thanks Maxraid, never heard this before. We are a nation ever reaping what Fr. JC said. So is the Church. I can count on my ten fingers how many homilies I heard in my decades of life regarding the evils of artificial birth control. How many Catholics have been open to life in their marriages? Tragic days ahead for us as a Nation and Church. But maybe if we pray, sacrifice and fast our Lord will lessen the sufferings ahead of us. God sent us prophetic people…Archbishop Fulton Sheen, Mother Teresa and Saint John Paul but few put their words into action. We can’t blame God for the evils and violence we live in today.

No to implying guilty of those unverified accusations. Without being more forceful in defense of unfounded “news” by fellow posters. I described how
“falling again” is understood by an example of Jesus carrying His Cross. This is not meant to be used to suggest or speculate about Fr. Corapi.

I think this is the answer. It’s always been the cries of the faithful that moved Our Father to save us from the current calamity. When enough of us cry to God with humble contrite hearts, He will deliver us again.

  • Who is/was Fr. Corapi? When was his heyday, so to speak?
  • What did he do that made him so popular?
  • What happened to him and why?
  • Is it worth investigating his materials? (Books, videos, etc.) Will they help me in my faith journey?
  • Has Fr. Corapi influenced any of you?
  • Where is Fr. Corapi now, and what is his standing with the Church?
  1. Fr. John Corapi - a Hollywood attorney who got hooked on drugs became homeless, through a praying Mom reverted to Catholicism and became a priest. His heyday was mid-late 1990s. He was in the Sacramento diocese teaching the CCC.
  2. He was on fire for the Truth! For God and the Catholic Church.
  3. He was accused of falling into sin with an adult woman. Falsely or not, I’m not sure. Either way, the Church has to take it seriously & remove from public ministry until he can prove himself innocent. He did post a video calling himself the black sheep and saying he’s no longer going to be a priest as it’s not possible to prove his innocence & there’s no assumption of innocence, the accusing party is presumed to be telling the truth.
  4. Yes, Everything he preached was Authentic and very faithful to the Magisterium. He’s very dynamic! Should be of tremendous value to you.
  5. He was instrumental in my Conversion & many others I know.
  6. I don’t know. I don’t know. I heard that he’s repented & living a quiet life within his religious community and that they’re not letting him out again to speak or teach in order to prevent any future scandals. I have no way to verify that though.

As I recall, the allegations were serious and credible. Whether he formally left the priesthood, or “withdrew from ministry”, the fact is that he was given an order by his superior, and decided to stop acting as a priest rather than comply with his oath. So I will stand by the Church on this one, thanks.
