I’ve worked with and for a good number of the 1 per cent. Most of them have rich, loving family lives and strong values, which they have passed down to their children. Money has enabled them to do a lot of good for society because their parents inculcated them with a sense of their duty and responsibility to others.
These parents must not have much faith in their own parenting abilities if they do not believe they are capable of instilling a good work ethic and values in their children. Most people live longer these days, especially with the kind of medical care $4 B can provide, so their children probably won’t get their inheritance until they’re in their forties, fifties, or older, a long time to waste your life waiting for your parents to die. I don’t doubt that a twenty-year-old inheriting that kind of money might go a little - or a lot - wild, but by middle age it’s far more likely that phase has passed
