Dear Brothers and Sisters,

By God’s Grace, let us draw close to Mary and spend these days in a “holy manner”:
… true devotion to our Lady is holy, that is, it leads us to avoid sin and to imitate the virtues of Mary. Her ten principal virtues are: deep humility, lively faith, blind obedience, unceasing prayer, constant self-denial, surpassing purity, ardent love, heroic patience, angelic kindness, and heavenly wisdom. (paragraph 108 of True Devotion by St. Louis De Montfort)
The Holy Spirit enables us to imitate Mary by working in us as He did in Mary. For our part, let us continue to ask, seek and knock on the door of God’s Heart that He may open to us and give us His Spirit. He will enable us to “see” by faith as Mary saw when she gazed upon her Son – and enable us to become like Him as she did on this earth.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

O Jesus, living in Mary, come and live in your servants, in the spirit of holiness, in the fullness of your power, in the perfection of your ways, in the truth of your virtues, in the communion of your mysteries. Rule over every adverse power, in your Spirit, for the glory of the Father. Amen.

The Immaculate Conception

“Who is this who comest forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army in battle-array?” (Canticle of Canticles 6:9)

The conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the dawn of our salvation. In Her alone is the Divine Majesty perfectly adored, worshiped, honored, and glorified, since She alone was without any stain of the original sin.

THIS Lent for me has passed so fast, and now
Holy Week is upon us, let us slow down and make
the most of this HOLY week, and perhaps pray the
Divine Mercy Novena.

The Novena commences on Good Friday, April 3rd.

Der GLam,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, Lent goes fast — Life goes fast too! How many of us look back and say “Where did the time go?” It goes into eternity – for whatever we did for the Lord will receive His reward. May He forgive us our “wasting” of time in fruitless things like worries and anxieties and for our lack of faith, hope and charity.

Every day contains 24 hours - if God gives us breath to live all those 24 hours. May we live every moment He gives us in gratitude and love for past, and present blessings of His Mercy. Let us leave the future to His Providence.

The Divine Mercy chaplet is a beautiful prayer I try to say daily; I also pray our Blessed Mother’s Rosary daily. The Divine Mercy Novena which begins on Good Friday and ends with the beautiful Feast of Divine Mercy on the Sunday after Easter is a powerful prayer which can expand our hearts.

By God’s Grace, may we spend this Holy Week close to Mary, as she unites her heart to be pierced with His. May this week be truly holy and be the most fervent of our lives,
