Dunno about the question. I would try to adopt the dragon and then ride it… when it grows up.
After he’s been educated I promise you he won’t try to trick anyone with cups anymore…

The knight simply needs to drink from any well other than well number 9 beforehand.
Well 9 works. 10 > 9 and therefore acts as an antidote to 9.
So I’m wondering if the knight, after drinking the cup from well 10, would then drink two cups from say well 9, would that be an antidote to the drinking of the cup from well 10?
Two cups of well 9 after drinking well 10 would just poison you more. 😛
Perhaps you can drink some water from one of the lower numbered wells beforehand and give the dragon a cup of water from well number ten.
Right.
Maybe you can give him regular water and he will poison himself when he drinks from the tenth well.
Right again.
Dragon cannot be killed.
Again logic.
Dragon can always drink cup 1 afterwards and then proceed to drink cup 10.
The dragon expects you to give it poisoned water.
afterwards I shall drinketh water from well 10 to cure myself from whatever poisoned water thou doth giveth me.”
So with that expectation, drinking other poisoned water would work against it. Since let’s say it drank well 1 water beforehand, you give it well 2 making an antidote and then it drinks well 10. Whereas just drinking your poison and then going to well 10 is a surefire hit.

Well 9 works. 10 > 9 and therefore acts as an antidote to 9.
No 9 doesn’t work.
If knight drinks 9 and then dragon can give you 9. Then what does the knight do after that? He’s dead.

Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
  1. Give the dragon a cup of sea water so when he drinks from well 10 he’ll die
  2. Dig a new well which will be Well 11 and will be the antidote to the water Dragon gives you, or alternatively throw your cup of water in the Dragon’s face and run
  3. Pray in the night for deliverance from the Dragon and perhaps the Lord will smite him dead

It seems the best answer so far is:
  1. The knight drinks from any well 1-9 beforehand, and the cup of well 10 water from the dragon will cure him.
  2. The knight gives the dragon a cup of regular (non-poisoned) water, maybe from a stream on the island, and when the dragon then drinks cup 10 he will poison himself and die.
  3. Knight wins!
