I’m in a Shakespeare class, so naturally we’re talking about the Tudor dynasty. I found this little video online. If only people were that honest about Luther’s character.

That was great. When I was a kid, I used to read the “Horrible Histories” books… didn’t know they made them into a series.

That was a hilarious spoof… but of course it isn’t serious history upon which we should make serious claims. There are plenty of good histories covering the career of Henry VIII.
It is an interesting fact that his title ‘Defender of the Faith’ was granted him by one of the popes and became a hereditary title of the Protestant kings and queens of England to the present day.

Like the Catholic church I think most Anglicans would consider Jesus Christ as their founder.

It is a slipery path if we pick out Henry VIII to discredit the Anglican church considering some of the terrible scandals attached to several of our popes in centuries past.
