Last week I went to confession with mortal sins to confess. About an hour beforehand, I remembered a certain sin, and jotted it down where I would see it and remember to add it to my list. When I did see it, I couldn’t actually remember committing that sin, although I’m sure I must have because otherwise I wouldn’t have thought of it at all in the first place. I thought, “Well, I’ll just try to remember to mention it in confession,” but I didn’t add it to my list, even though I knew I would very likely forget. And sure enough, I forgot.
Was this a bad confession? I feel like it was, but I’m hesitant to say for sure.
