Pope admits clerical abuse of nuns including sexual slavery
Pope Francis admits nuns have been sexually abused by clerics - and it is an ongoing problem.
It sounds like you’re saying that random rape of nuns by priests is OK so long as they’re not actually being kept as sex slaves.“And in one case they were kept as sex slaves” - key phrase
The BBC does not have a department for making the pope look bad. The picture was clearly chosen as one of the few available showing him not smiling, as such a photo would not have illustrated the story.I also realize that BBC News has its own agenda, coupled with the most unflattering photo they could find![]()
Um no, the plural is about more than one nun, not more than one order. However, the headline seems to make plural what is a singular occurrence.
You have taken my statement and blown it out of proportion. I said the BBC has its own agenda. That means they are looking to sell interesting things in order to make money. Scandal is interesting, even if there is a lot of partial quotes and innuendos. They have, in my experience, a liberal bias as well. Therefore, I will take any news the print in this vein with a grain of salt. The BBC does not have a department for making the pope look bad.
Did you read the article? It doesn’t sound like it. Multiple crimes, multiple locations. However, the headline seems to make plural what is a singular occurrence.
You read it wrong. It does not mean what you thought it did.the ‘occurrence’ which I mean is the nuns as sex slaves
You’re right, it’s not a new story. It’s mainly that the pope referenced it specifically that has it back in the news cycle.I found at least one thread on CAF within the last year referring to something like this, and it is nearly a year old. How is this new?
