So his JEWISH WAY is somehoe better than the HOLY SPIRIT led practices of the RCC:shrug:

From our Catholic Catechism:

1345 As early as the second century we have the witness of St. Justin Martyr for the basic lines of the order of the Eucharistic celebration. They have stayed the same until our own day for all the great liturgical families. St. Justin wrote to the pagan emperor Antoninus Pius (138-161) around the year 155, explaining what Christians did:

On the day we call the day of the sun, all who dwell in the city or country gather in the same place.
The memoirs of the apostles and the writings of the prophets are read, as much as time permits.

When the reader has finished, he who presides over those gathered admonishes and challenges them to imitate these beautiful things.

Then we all rise together and offer prayers* for ourselves . . .and for all others, wherever they may be, so that we may be found righteous by our life and actions, and faithful to the commandments, so as to obtain eternal salvation.

When the prayers are concluded we exchange the kiss.

**Then someone brings bread and a cup of water and wine mixed together to him who presides over the brethren.

He takes them and offers praise and glory to the Father of the universe, through the name of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and for a considerable time he gives thanks (in Greek: eucharistian) that we have been judged worthy of these gifts**.

When he has concluded the prayers and thanksgivings, all present give voice to an acclamation by saying: ‘Amen.’

When he who presides has given thanks and the people have responded, those whom we call deacons give to those present the “eucharisted” bread, wine and water and take them to those who are absent." End Quotes

While I TRULY appreciate the effort, I neverheless hold to OUR-Catholic Way, as being GOD"S WAY. Amen!

Hi! 👋
I was under the assumption that he was once Jewish and then converted to Catholicism. 🤷 Perhaps I was wrong though…
God bless! 🙂

This video is from a Messianic Jewish site. They are fundamentalist Christians who emphasize the Jewish origins of Christianity and maintain some Jewish practices. In my experience, they are some of the most virulent anti-Catholics in existence, though individuals within the faith may of course differ. They are not to be confused with the Hebrew Catholic Association, which is made up of Jewish converts to Catholicism and their descendants.

Whoops, sorry, I didn’t realize that… my bad. 😦

interesting answers.
thank you.
But Adventists, Charismatics, and other fundamentalists, are also anti-catholics in some features…🤷

Oh please, this guy stills wears a kippah and calls himself a Jew. He has clearly not accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is simply more propaganda to get us Christians to support Israel at all costs.

Yes,for example in charismatic and messianic communities the State of Israel is of great importance in political, spiritual, eschatological, and apocalyptic sense.

There are lots and lots of Jewish believers in our Messiah out there. Lots still wear a kippah and they would still say say they are Jewish. Jesus was Jewish, why wouldn’t they be? They will always feel a personal identity with their Jewish roots. I know lots and lots of Jewish Believers. None would deny still being Jewish.

Just as some Christians say they are Catholic, others Baptist, others Methodist, etc., Jewish believers refer to themselves by different names also. Some call themselves Hebrew Christians, others say they are Born Again Jews, others just say Jewish Believers, etc. Some would identify as Catholics, Baptists, Messianic Jews, etc. Each individual would be different.

When you Google Messianic Judaism you can see the varieties.

CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: St. Justin Martyr

St. Justin Martyr
“Christian apologist, born at Flavia Neapolis, about A.D. 100, converted to Christianity about A.D. 130, taught and defended the Christian religion in Asia Minor and at Rome, where he suffered martyrdom about the year 165. Two “Apologies” bearing his name and his “Dialogue with the Jew Tryphon” have come down to us. Leo XIII had a Mass and an Office composed in his honour and set his feast for 14 April.” END QUOTE

FACT - Jesus of Nazareth; the Messiah - was a Jew ; Joseph was a Jew; Mary was a Jewess; the disciples were Jews and Jesus specifically said he had not come to this World to change the Law (the Law of Moses). Now you can try your slight of hand to restore your golden haired Christ but historically the men and women in the Gospels are JEWS. Like it or not they did follow Jewish ways and beliefs radicalised by Jesus teachings. It was Paul not Jesus who broke with the Jewish faith. Jesus lived and died a Jew.

So was Jesus Saviour the Messiah or he was a Jew?

Both - the Messiah is a Jewish concept - you even quote Jewish texts in your services to that seek to explain who Jesus is .

what is annoying is the anti-Catholicism in the Messianic and Adventist communities,
and political interpretation of these communities, including charismatic.

Since I do not belong to either of those communities I cannot comment on their views.

But we believe in Jesus as God. That alone seperates us from Judaism.

Therefore, the earliest pre-Christian followers of Jesus based in Jerusalem and led by James called by themselves an other writers Nazarenes, were heretics. It was the followers of Paul
who founded what you now call the Christian Church and imposed Greek ideas on an essentially Jewish faith.
There are several data points that give evidence to a struggle between the Apostle Paul and the brother of Jesus, known in the early church as “James the Just.” I do not want to engage in this debate, but I will quickly list the data. I am sure this will bring some comments my way.
  • the record in Acts 15
Although Paul and James do not have open dispute in what we call the Jerusalem Council, Paul’s autobiographical comments in Galatians make it a bit more clear that he did not view James as THE leader of Christ’s Church (see Gal 1:17; 2:6-9; 2:11-13).
  • the four commands from Acts 15
James the Just gives the pronouncement that Gentiles were “You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality…” v29
In his writing Paul objects to all dietary restrictions:
One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. - Romans 14:2
I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean…For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit…All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. - Romans 14:14-20 (emphasis added)
But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do. - 1 Cor 8:8
1 Cor 8 - the entire chapter is given to eating meat offered to idols. Paul is nuanced, but does not support the Acts 15 prohibition.
All the Pauline writings taken together make it clear that food laws are not required. Paul seems to say that IF a person wants to follow food laws he/she can, but nothing is unclean in itself.
  • Galatians and the Epistle of James
The apparent polemical nature of letter of James the Just against Paul’s letter to the Galatians recognises this divergence of views. I realize that most Christians will say that these two documents are not in disagreement, but we have another set of ancient texts that seem to address this apparent conflict: these texts are known as the Pseudo-Clementine Literature which includes Homilies, Recognitions of Clement, and The Preaching of Peter which confirm the dispute. What is happening is Paul is moving away from the teaching of the disciples and therefore of Jesus to his own interpretation of events and his own theological belief on who Jesus was. I follow James, the brother of Jesus - You follow Paul, the converted Jew from Tarsus. Which of us is closer to the true Messiah ? It is not only a matter of faith but I matter of who we put our faith in - Paul or James the Just ?

Question Was Jesus a Christian or did he live and die a Jew ? The Gospels seem to indicate he lived and died a Jew. Are they to be believed ?
