Yes of course Peter never denied Yeshua (Jesus) was the Messiah, the anointed one of God, but there is no evidence he followed Paul in abandoning his Jewish faith, rather only that he added to it. I respect Peter as much as I do James (Shimon and Yakov in the Hebrew/Aramaic of their day) . They and not Paul are the true founders of my faith. But I will never abandon my belief in its Jewish origins. Anti-Semitism has always struck me as an attack on the very Messiah Christians claim to love.
Do you think Catholics are unaware that Jesus/Yeshua was a Jew, along with His mother, and the 12 Apostles?

Why isn’t Christ/Yeshua the founder of your faith?

No I think a lot of Catholics think Jesus and Mary are Aryans hence the blond blue-eyed Christ and Mary of the Statues. No Jewish features are on display. Also history shows BOTH Catholics and Protestants and Orthodox Christians persecuted the Jews. They could not link the Biblical Jesus with his Jewish nature.
Jesus/Yeshua is not the founder of my faith but the augmenter of my faith and His - the Messianic Anointed one of God who came to proclaim the Kingdom. He was crucified by the Romans, buried but God raised him from death to proclaim Yeshua’s Messiaship. In that sense He is my Saviour and the Saviour of ALL.

Many Catholics fought and died in WWII because they thought the ideas of Hitler and his Aryans were wrong. Many priests ended up in those camps along with nuns, Protestant ministers, and many Christians who risked their lives all through Europe to help the Jews and all others who were marked for the camps. Danish fishing boats filled their hulls with Jews and transported them across to free Sweden.

Jewish features? Like what? I know Jews who have red hair, others who are blond with blue eyes.

What exactly is a Jewish nature?

If James or Peter is the founder of your faith, why did they need Yeshua?

It is good that you think but I think you might benefit from reading and maybe that will change your prejudices against Catholics and Protestants.

I am not “prejudiced” against Catholics or Protestants but you being North American are less familiar with our European past. My father was one of those British soldiers who liberated Belsen in 1945, my mother in Law who is Polish, saw German troops many of them Catholic kill not only Jews but Polish Catholics including priest and nuns. Europe’s history is filled with outbursts of genocide against Jews and gypsies and wars between Christians. I doubt Yeshua would recognise the faith that breeds such hatreds.I puzzle at how he would respond to individualism and the growing gap between the rich and the poor. I struggle to see how working towards the Kingdom of God requires a Greco-Roman theology to be imposed on a clearly defined Jewish faith ?

Salvation comes from the Jews but it does not end with the Jews. According to the words of St. Peter, “In truth, I see that God shows no partiality; rather, anyone who fears God and does right is acceptable to him.” The theology of God transcends any nation, even the nation that He favored first. Christianity, or more specifically Catholicism, has the fullness of it.

The theology of Judaism does not believe that salvation, as I think the term is used by Christians, comes from the Jews. The Law makes it clear that ALL humans are G-d’s children. Jews have the additional responsibility of carrying the message of the Law to the world by means of their behavior toward G-d and His creation: humans, animals, the earth. The Law provides the blueprint concerning what is regarded as moral behavior but it never pretends to offer salvation, if what you mean is eternal life with G-d.

Yeah, well thanks for explaining your perspective.

I believe us North Americans, US and Canada, were allies of yours, correct? Some like my father was a Catholic fighting too with the Allies.

LOOK…they may have been baptized Catholic but there is no way they were practicing Catholics if they participated in those atrocities. Hitler was baptized a Catholic. What does that mean? He was evil as all of them were. Those that were Protestant and Nazis were also evil.

Greco-Roman theology was pagan. The Catholic Church was not and is not pagan. We know Jesus was a Jew and we know the Old Testament.
