This may sound silly...but please pray

My daughter’s cat got out last evening. Please pray that he finds his way home…

My daughter is the kindest soul I have ever known. I have never known her to put herself first. She shares without fail. This cat is the first thing she ever asked for…she found it in the woods…someone had dropped him off and left him…she cared for him and loves him so much.

I know with all the pain that many experience this sounds silly but as her mother I can’t stand to see her hurt. Thank you for for kindness and understanding. Bless you!

It’s not silly, Theresa. I think we can find a faint image of God’s love in the unconditional devotion of a pet, and sometimes they are for us a little of God’s comfort in those moments when nothing can console the sadness or loneliness we can feel, but a furry cuddle or our animal gazing at us with non-judgemental, trusting eyes.

And I understand your distress for your daughter,
and the worry she feels as to whether her cat is miserable, hungry, lost.
I pray your daughter finds her little companion, safe and healthy, very soon.

This is not silly! I pray that this cat is safe in it’s wanderings and that it returns home soon and in good health. I pray for this child who has lost her companion pet whom she loves dearly that she may trust in You to care for her beloved pet whatever the outcome might be.

Prayer to Saint Anthony the Wonder-Worker

Saint Anthony, perfect imitator of Jesus, who received from God the special power of restoring lost things, grant that this child may find her cat which has been lost. At least restore to her peace and tranquility of mind, the loss of which has afflicted her even more than her cat being missing.

To this favor I ask another of you: that this child may always remain in possession of the true good that is God.Let her rather lose all things than lose God.
 
That is not silly. I am praying to St. Francis and St. Anthony that the cat is found quickly and found safe. Please let us know when your daughter’s cat returns 🙂
