If watching movies were the the only sin I had to worry about, I would be in a good place.

A movie is simply watching a play being acted out. That’s it. St. Padre Pio watched plays, and the medieval church had re-enactments of the Passion. This method is different just because of how it is transmitted, i.e. electronically.

Absolutely no need to worry. Everything is fine 🙂

I really like the LEGO Movie. Might have to watch it again. If anyone has any other Catholic appropriate movie suggestions, please let me know. Thanks
The Song of Bernadette? The Passion of the Christ? The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima? These are all sinful to watch???

Rubbish!!!
In addition to the films @Mark121359 mentioned (all great Catholic films), here is a list compiled by the Vatican:

I highly recommend Citizen Kane (which is on the Vatican list), also there are a plethora of other great films out there.

nope! I used to really struggle with this same question, but eventually I realized that it’s not a sin (unless, say, the movies promote immorality). I think the USCCB has some movie ratings, you should check them out!

If anyone has any other Catholic appropriate movie suggestions, please let me know. Thanks
The Blues Brothers. I read on a thread here at CAF, quite a long time ago, that – surprisngly enough – it’s highly regarded among Vatican theologians.

Not a waste of time.

Take it as a lesson to be more discerning.

You could start praying for the gift of discernment and remember that anyone and his dog can declare anything to be sin, doesn’t make them right.

I was feeling fine about watching movies after learning that my Parish’s Priests actually like to watch movies and then I saw this video
With all due respect, if you’re a Catholic, then your parish priest is the one you should be listening to, not some random stranger on the Internet.

You could find strangers on the Internet who think it’s sinful to eat hamburgers or for a woman to go outside without being completely covered head to toe in a burka.

Why are you seeking out this junk and watching/ listening to it? Find something better and more productive to do with your time, and don’t go looking at strangers’ videos for your faith and morals guidance. Ask your priest, read the Catechism and other Catholic teachings.
