I have a friend who I haven’t seen in about 4 months, and although I know we are both busy but everytime I ask her to hang out she says no or that she can’t that day. I know she’s not mad about anything because nothing happened, I just know she’s busy with her family and work, but she’s so short in her text messages when I try to talk. Anyway, today I said “morning” with a smiley face and asked if she wanted to hang out tonight. Her response was “I can’t I have plans tonight”… I feel so stupid always asking her to hang out and she says no, so I said back “okay I wanted to tell you something but it’s ok ur too busy” … bc i wanted to kind of make her wonder. Anyway, I kind of felt bad because it was immature, but was it a sin? I might be being scrupulous but I don’t know I just felt ashamed of myself for being immature, because I had stopped doing things like that for a long time now. But, she just upset me.

I am sure you agree that contrived attempts to manipulate someone is not wise, and in this case not sinful either.

Definitely healthy that you feel convicted by it, for future communications.

🙂

Thank you! 🙂

Dating is a war where there are winners and losers.
You have to use many tactics to conquer your Princess.
Now, this tactic was a bit naive, that’s all.
You could do better…
Forget about sins…

After a certain amount of time, I generally concede that the other person does not have time for me as a friend, possibly because of other commitments or whatever, and let the friendship slide, maybe sending a Christmas card or something to let them know I’m not mad or anything. But there is no sense in trying to pu together something with someone who doesn’t have time.

Sometimes they get back in touch with me…

In fact, I am about to call someone with whom I haven’t spoken in several months because we are both busy, so it’s not necessarily a personal thing by any means 🙂

What is this… I don’t even… what…

No, I’m pretty sure you didn’t sin.

Perfectly normal emotions. Shows you are human 🙂

as for sinning, I cannot comment because I am not a priest. But I do know it just makes you perfectly normal 🙂
